The Great Glen Way

The Great Glen Way runs for 73 miles (117 km) along Scotland's historic Great Glen between Fort William and Inverness. It follows the Caledonian Canal and passes several lochs, including Loch Ness with its famous monster legend, and Urquhart Castle.

Stop Press: due to major forestry operations, a section of the Great Glen Way between Fort Augustus and Invermoristion is CLOSED from November 2008 to March 2009. There is no diversion and it is dangerous, and prohibited, to try to use the route between Allt na Criche and Rubha Ban. Please follow this link for details of buses and taxis.
